Welcome to Battye’s fish & chip Restaurant and take away, a family business of three generations run by former Castleford Tigers rugby league player Neil Battye and his wife Jo.
Having many years’ experience in the catering industry Neil and Jo were very keen to launch a new business in their home town. We offer the finest quality Icelandic haddock sourced from sustainable fisheries. All our fish is cooked to order in Battye’s traditional batter a closely guarded family secret, served with crisply fried chips, homemade tartare sauce, and the perfect accompaniment mushy peas.
Battye’s offers traditional home cooked food such as our delicious steak pie, which is already gaining its own reputation for quality and taste. We have a range of homemade daily specials available from crab tartlets to fish pie served with a glass of house white.
